These are optional, and I recommend getting the PDF through the library link rather than buying a hard copy. In addition to the lesson notes, we refer you to two textbooks throughout the semester.

MATLAB (any modern version, post-2010) or Octave (a free open-source implementation, which will be adequate for CS 101). We recommend installing Anaconda Python as it comes with all necessary libraries.

You will need to join a second (FREE) FlipItPhysics class in order to have access to the course lab materials. You can purchase access through the U of I Bookstore bundled with the electronic book, or you can purchase just the FlipItPhysics access for 6 months through MacMillan.Click on the Join a Course link and enter UIP101SP21.Complete your profile, then click on the Enrollments Tab.Click on the Register button, and create an account using your email address.You will need to get flipitPhysics access and do the first Prelecture and Checkpoint before you go to the first lecture.
